Patriarch Eraclius of Jerusalem and P. sanctae resurrectionis ecclesiae prior, together with the chapter of the Holy Sepulchre, write under seal to Conradus de Dachavv Dux [Count Conrad III of Dachau], reminding him how, when he had been on pilgrimage to Jerusalem, he was told that in the time of his father his men had murdered a canon. In recompense he had promised to build a church in honour of the Cross. He should also help restore properties lost by the canons.

text: Dec. 25 1197 - Dec. 24 1198. Patriarch [Aymar] Monachus of Jerusalem and the chapter of the Holy Sepuchre write to all the faithful, clergy and laity, in the duchy of Poland. They recount how the late dominus Iaczo visited the church of the Holy Sepulchre and asked that canons should return with him to Poland. A canon went back with him. With the agreement of the dukes, the canons of the Holy Sepulchre were given many properties and liberties, which are listed. They appeal for more alms-giving.
