With the agreement of his wife Emma and his barones, he gives the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, represented by domnus Raimundus magister Hospitalis et custos et gubernator pauperum, one of the 3 better casalia in the territory and lordship of Ascalon once the city falls into his hands. He also gives, to be held free of any consuetudo, the land in Jaffa that Radulfus Hospitalis held before he died. He confirms all that the Hospital holds in the territory and lordship [dominium] of Ramla. Witnesses: Julduinus abbas S. On his deathbed Bernardus affirmed that he had made an eleemosynary grant to the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem of his fief [honor] in Olibana. Witnesses: Berengarius S. The casale is surrounded by the casalia of Artha, Fardasie, Aldie, Kalodie, Arthaba, Beselechie and Burin. The gift is confirmed as an eleemosynary grant by Johannes de Bethzan and Hugo de Bethzan, the brothers of his deceased wife Euphemia, from whom he held the casale. The gift is also confirmed as an eleemosynary grant sealed by Domnus Galterius Cesariensis, in whose lordship [dominium et territorium] the casale is situated. He confirms under his seal everything given in the reigns of his predecessors to the Hospital. He confirms those gifts made during his reign, specifying the following. In the territory of Jerusalem, Gosfridus de Parentea gave 4 partes terre at a place called Beccafaba. Gosfridus also gave a garden with cisterns next to the Tower of David, with roads on either side, one of which runs to Bethlehem. Adam de Ramis gave a house with a cistern inside, situated in front of the house of Guido de Miliaco and next to the Gate of the Temple, from where the road goes to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. Witnesses of Adam’s gift were: Aschetinus vicecomes; Vgo de Ramis; Gosfridus de Acula; Alfanus; Siherius de Beritto; Porcellus; Rancoldus de Ponzo.
