The abbey’s possession of the casale had been challenged by the heirs of Radulfus de Septem Molis, but they have been persuaded to concede the casale to the abbey in the presence of Patriarch William of Jerusalem. Their names are: Gofridus filius Radulfi, Hugo his brother, Mazelina their sister with her husband Arnulfus de Aria, and their mother Agnes. If these Suriani, or those to whom they will have sold or pledged the land, do not farm it or the vines well, the property will revert to St Mary. During the first 3 years, and at other times if necessary, a guardian will oversee the land at their expense [à frais communs]. On the east it touches the houses of Michael Le Rempeor and Michael Bastatius. On the west stands the house of Farage syriacus. On the south is the house of David Piscator, while the land stretches to a lane [viculus] that joins the public way, where there is the way out of a house….. next to the mill of Farage. On the north is the entry to the land on common passage [in exitum communem].
