text: Sept. 4. Benevento. Pope Honorius II writes to Guillelmus prior and the canons of the church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. At the request of Patriarch Warmund he confirms their possessions, according them papal protection. Among their properties he specifies: in the diocese of Jerusalem the church of St Lazarus [in Bethany] with its castle [castellum] and the Castrum Maoma with its church; in the diocese of Caesarea Castrum Feniculi with its church; in the city of Jaffa the church of St Peter; in the city of Tyre the church of St Mary antique sedis; in the diocese of Tripoli the church of the Holy Sepulchre in the castle of Mont Pèlerin, the church of Sanctus Georgius in Montanis and the villa called Bivora. There follows a list of properties in Europe: in Apulia, Provence, Languedoc, Catalonia, France, Castile, Leon and Galicia.

Pope Honorius II, at the request of Guillelmus Tirensis archiepiscopus and Rogerius Ramensis episcopus, who have reminded him of the achievement of Duke Godfrey [of Bouillon] and King Baldwin I, extends the same recognition of the kingship of Baldwin II that his predecessor Pope Paschal II accorded to King Baldwin I and to the church of Jerusalem. He commends to King Baldwin II Count Fulk of Anjou, who has decided to leave for the East.
