text: Jan 6. Godefridus de Guisa, originating in the diocese of Laon, recognises the favour done to him by the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem in extricating him from imprisonment by the Muslims [pagani] and becomes a confrater of the Hospital. In the presence of Patriarch A[lbert] of Jerusalem, and dominus P. cesariensis archiepiscopus, he makes an eleemosynary grant to the Hospital, which is sealed by the patriarch, giving it rents in Picardy. He asks his wife Maria to make sure that the gift is made.
