At the request of Count Bohemond of Tripoli, the son of Prince Bohemond [III] of Antioch, his wife Plaizencia and his homines, and with the agreement of their barones, Aimery, dei gratia Latinorum Ierusalem rex nonus et rex Cipri, and his wife the Lady Queen Isabella, the daughter of King Amalric, confirm that the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, frater Gaufridus de Donion magister, and its brothers are to receive 1000 Saracen besants a year, subtracted from Bohemond’s assisia of 4000 Saracen besants drawn from the revenues of the cathena of Acre. which Count Bohemond holds and for which he had become a homo ligius of the king. Bohemond has given this rent to the Hospital of St John in repayment of the debt of 37000 Saracen besants owed by Count Raymond [III] of Tripoli, for which the assisia of 4000 Saracen besants held by Bohemond had been pledged, with the agreement of previous kings of Jerusalem. The Hospitallers will receive payment in 4 instalments of 250 besants each, payable [by royal officials] each 3 months. They give a tower at Acre called the Turris Carceris, freed from service [servitium], and house, which is on the eastern side of the tower and to the west of the gate called the Porta Boverie Templi, while to the south it adjoins the oven called the furnus Malivicini. Also given is the rent [census] of a house situated between the wall of the city and the barbacan [barbacana], touching to the east the aforesaid tower and to the west the Porta Boverie. Willelmus can sell or pledge the house and the rent, except to religious institutions. With the agreement of his wife Isabella, the daughter of King Amalric, Aimery, per dei gratia Ierusalem Latinorum rex nonus et rex Cypri, confirms all previous gifts made to the commune of Marseille by kings of Jerusalem, in return for its assistance in acquiring their kingdom. They confirm especially whatever Marseille has in Acre and all the maritime cities through charters from King Fulk and King Amalric. In return for the assistance of Marseille in bringing aid to Jaffa and the kingdom of Cyprus with 2800 Saracen besants, the commune has freedom to enter and leave, sell and buy in Cyprus, without the payment of dues. He also gives one of the royal casalia in Cyprus, called Flacie, with all its rustici and animals. E. [Aymar Monachus] patriarch of Jerusalem and Iossius archiepiscopus and all the prelates are instructed to excommunicate all who challenge these confirmations and gifts.
