text: Mar. 9. Lateran. Pope Gregory IX writes to the patriarch of Antioch and bishop of Tortosa [Anteradensis], with specific reference to the patriarchate of Antioch, to the patriarch of Jerusalem as papal legate, with reference to all the bishops in the Latin East, and to the archbishop of Nicosia, with reference to all bishops in Cyprus. He forbids any Greek priest [sacerdos Grecus] to celebrate [the divine offices] unless he swears obedience to the Roman Church in the presence of his subjects and abjures heresy, especially the belief that Latins are heretics for celebrating [Mass] with unleavened bread.
