text: Nov. 8. Tyre. Baldwin, per dei gratiam in sancta civitate Ierusalem Latinorum rex sextus, makes a sealed eleemosynary grant to Benincasa abbas Cauensis cenobii. He frees the abbey’s ship [navis] from anchoraticum, which is 1 silver marcha, customarily payable by ships coming to the Holy Land. He permits the abbey to enter and leave his kingdom freely when carrying its goods and he frees it from the payment of duty [consuetudo] on anything the monks need. Witnesses: Ioscelinus regis senescalcus; Rainaldus Sydonensis domnus; Raimundus de Scandalione; Milo de Colouardino; Symon de Vercinni Tyrensis castellanus; Iohannes Lombardus Toroni castellanus. The charter was drawn up by Willelmus Tyrensis archiepiscopus regisque cancellarius.
