In return Iosbertus magister and the brothers of the chapter of the Hospital had given Balduinus in charity [caritative] 1700 Saracen besants. text: Apr. 1. [157] Jerusalem. Henricus Trecensis comes palatinus, records how he has visited the tombs of the patriarchs Abraham, Isaac and Jacob at Hebron. Out of sympathy for Bishop R. and the canons there he makes a sealed eleemosynary grant, giving them an annual rent of 60 librae of Provins, to be drawn from the revenues of Troyes, and a house in that city which the canons can occupy. He frees the canons from the payment of dues.
