Pope Celestine III writes to A[lanus] Nicosiensis archiepiscopus, who had been cancellarius regis Cypri, referring again to his reform of the church on Cyprus at the request of King Aimery, to the election of Alanus and of B. magister B. archidiaconus Laudicensis to the bishopric of Paphos and their consecration by the archbishop of Nazareth and the bishops of Bethlehem and Acre, to his sending of the pallium, to the obligation of the clergy to obey their new archbishop and to the archbishop’s duties.
