Baldwin, per dei gratiam in sancta civitate Ierusalem Latinorum rex sextus, records under seal that in his presence and in his curia Balduinus Ramarum domnus had made an eleemosynary grant [masking a sale] to the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem and Iosbertus magister Hospitalis, remitting for ever the census of 200 besants a year, which they had paid him for the casale called Sancta Maria. In return Iosbertus magister and the brothers of the chapter of the Hospital had given Balduinus in charity [caritative] 1700 Saracen besants. Baldwin, per dei gratiam in sancta civitate Ierusalem Latinorum rex VIus, confirms under seal, regie maiestatis auctoritate, an exchange made with Petrus prior ecclesie sancte Resurrectionis and the canons of the Holy Sepulchre. The king makes a sealed eleemosynary grant of an annual rent of 2 quintarii of grapes, collected from his vineyards near the church of the Holy Cross, in return for the tithe of the vineyards next to the church of St Procopius, which his father King Amalric gave to the abbey of Mt Sion in exchange for the lacus Germani, which is for the common use of all the city. Witnesses: Willelmus marchisius Ascalonitanus et Ioppensis comes; Iohannes de Assur; Anselmus de Bria; Roardus castellanus Ierusalem; Petrus de Creseca; Anselmus Dabim: Willelmus Patrum. text: Jan. 21. Acre. Baldwin, per dei gratiam in sancta civitate Iherusalem Latinorum rex sextus, makes an eleemosynary grant, confirming under seal an arbitration in a long dispute between Rogerius de Molinis magister, together with his brothers of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, and Rohardus de Chabor over land situated between Beroet and the Tolonum Rohardi de Chabor, which Rohardus unjustly claimed. The king ordered Ioscelinus, his uncle and senescalcus, some brothers of the Hospital - with the permission of Rohardus -, Antelmus de Luca, Radulfus de Nigella and others to walk the ground and measure out the boundaries. Rohardus then publicly renounced his claims. Witnesses: Iocelinus comitis Edessani filius regius senescalcus; Gillebertus de Floriaco vicecomes Acconensis; Hubertus de Accon; Antelmus de Luca; Radulfus de Nigella; Odo de Luco Plantato; Ioulanus de Saus.
