She assigned as a marriage portion [dotis nomine] 300 besants to the daughter of Willelmus, raised on a statio in the rua Surianorum, which they held of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem. Forced by necessity, Petronilla and Adam have the agreement of Willelmus and his daughter to act as they please with respect to the statio. They give the statio as an alms-gift to the Hospital, receiving in charity 360 besants, and with the agreement of the chapter of the Hospital they raise the marriage portion of 300 besants on lands and houses that they hold of the Hospital in Cacho. He gives the castle [castrum] called Margat with all its lands and rights, including his dominationes and ligiantiae. In return, the magister, his successors and brothers will pay Bertrandus and his legitimate heirs 2200 Saracen besants each year, payable in the city of Tripoli by the castellan [castellanus] of Cractum in 4 instalments, namely 550 besants each at Easter, the Nativity of St John the Baptist, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross and Christmas. The Hospital of St John surrenders all gifts and freedoms granted to it by Prince Raymond Roupen in the city of Antioch and its lordship, except for the city of Gabulum and castrum Vetule. It renounces its rights to all privileges granted by Raymond Roupen and all its claims against Bohemond. In return, Prince Bohemond gives the Hospital of St John an annual rent of 316 besants of Tripoli [bisantii Tripolitani], to be drawn on the revenues of Tripoli, together with an eleemosynary grant of an annual rent of 873 besants of Antioch [bisantii Antiocheni], to be drawn on the revenues of the city of Antioch.
