text: End Dec. 1199 - Early Jan. 1200. Pope Innocent III writes to the archbishop of Tyre and the bishop of Sidon. A case was heard in Rome by 3 cardinals relating to a dispute over the church of Nefins, its tithes and 3 casalia, between the church of Tripoli, represented by S[eguinus] prior sancti Michaelis and A[imericus] canonicus Tripolitanus, and the magister and brothers of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem. Pope Celestine III had written to the patriarch of Jerusalem, ordering the archbishop of Nazareth and the abbas of the Mt of Olives to put the Hospitallers in possession of church of Nephin, its tithes and the 3 casalia. Innocent reverses that judgement in favour of the church of Tripoli. He orders the archbishop of Tyre and the bishop of Sidon to execute his judgement.
