text: Sept. 26. Jerusalem. In the Hospital of St John [in ipsa domo pauperum]. Balduinus Berutensis episcopus makes a sealed eleemosynary grant to the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem. He gives the Hospital a house in Jerusalem which he had been given to him by King Baldwin I. The house is to be held with full rights, except that Balduinus can lodge in it when he comes to Jerusalem. It is situated between the Hospital’s oven and mill. In return Balduinus is given by Rogerius Paganus, frater noster, a house in Beirut. The exchange is made in the presence of Balduinus. text: Jan. 2. Latakia. Gualterius de Surdavalle constabularius, with the agreement of Alice, principissa, makes an eleemosynary grant, to benefit among others his wife Sibilia. He gives the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, represented by Ramundus Hospitalis servus et rector, his palacium in the devastated city of Latakia. This palace was given to him by King Baldwin II of Jerusalem, Alice’s father, and his ownership of it was confirmed by Bohemond II, the son of Bohemond the Great. At the orders of Princess Alice this gift is recorded in a charter by Robertus cancellarius domine principisse and sealed with the seal of the prince. text: Apr. 30. Johannes primus Latinorum Tholomaide civitatis episcopus makes a sealed eleemosynary grant to the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem. He remits the payment of all tithes owed in his diocese to him and his cathedral, the church of the Holy Cross. In return the brothers of the Hospital renounce a dispute they had with the church of the Holy Cross because the chief northern door of the church had been built over a house belonging to them. The charter was drawn up [muneris auctor] by Johannes and is confirmed by the bishop Johannes. Witnesses: Gualterius canonicus; Joannes Romanus frater ecclesiae S. The casale is situated between the casalia of Kalensua to the east, Calodia to the south, Castellare Rogerii Longobardi to the west and Casale Latina to the north. The sale is authorized by Gualterius Cesariensis dominus, in whose territory the casale is situated, in exchange for 150 besants, and by Arnulfus de Haynis, the lord of Hysimbardus, in exchange for 60 besants.
